Tech Services and Consulting M&A Q3 2026
We’re pleased to share ComCap’s Q3 2026 Tech Services & Consulting M&A Report — our read on deal activity, valuation dynamics, and buyer behavior across the sector.
Q3 remained highly active, with 182 transactions logged, up from 160+ in Q2, and $7.8BN+ of disclosed transaction value. August was the busiest month of the quarter with 88 deals, while strategic buyers continued to deploy capital across Data & AI, managed IT, digital engineering and enterprise applications.
What matters most for owners and acquirers:
Data & AI assets continue to command a premium. Databricks-native and AI-engineering platforms traded at approximately 3.5x–6.0x revenue, well above traditional infrastructure and scaled IT services businesses.
Strategic buyers are acquiring delivery capability rather than building it. Deloitte / Wavicle, CDW / Lovelytics, AlixPartners / Artium and other transactions highlight demand for hands-on AI, data engineering and forward-deployed talent.
A new buyer category is becoming meaningful. Hyperscaler-PE deployment platforms are moving from formation into M&A, with OpenAI Deployment Company / Northslope and Ode with Anthropic / Casper Studios expanding the competitive buyer universe for AI-native services firms.
Our view: 2026–2027 represents an active consolidation window. Firms that can move clients from GenAI pilots to governed, production-grade agentic workflows supported by proprietary IP, certified ecosystem depth and recurring revenue should retain the strongest strategic optionality.
